“I can not remember a time when the trumpet was not part of my life,” says Christian Riegler.
He was born on August 3rd 1997 in Graz. At the age of 6 he already started taking trumpet lessons at the Musik- und Kunstschule Leoben, with Karlheinz Kunter as his teacher. In 2015, he left BORG Kindberg to concentrate solely on music. He switched to the J.Joseph-Fux Conservatory in Graz where he was taught by Karl Rossmann and Kurt Körner. He has been a permanent member of the Landesjugendblas Orchestra Academy Orchestra since he was 14 years old and subsequently entered the Landesjugendblasorchester of Styria. At the age of 17 his musical education led him to Vienna, where he was taught by Mag. Jakob Gollien.
Thanks to Christian’s hard work he won numerous prizes at the Youth Music Competition “Prima la Musica”, in both the solo category and ensemble. The multifaceted musician does not only love classical music, but is also inspired by many other styles. In addition to the Landesjugendblasorchester, he also performs with other orchestras such as the Johann Sebastian Bach Orchestra. At the moment, Christian is completing his national service at the Gardemusik in Vienna as the first trumpeter. After this, he is going to start studying trumpet at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Mdw Vienna).
