Firmian Lermer studied mainly in Vienna with Thomas Kakuska (Alban Berg Quartett), was strongly influenced by S.Végh and G.Kurtag .
He played in the Camerata Academica Salzburg as solo vila for many years, he founded in 1996 the Hyperion Ensemble, which performed for 20 years all over the world in most prestigious venues.
He was invited as a chamber musician to many festivals, like Lockenhaus, Salzburger Festspiele, Schleswig Holstein Musikfestival, Syriarte. He now performs frequently i as solo viola in symphony orchestras like Bamberger Symphoniker, Münchner Philhamoniker, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
Beside his teaching position in the University Mozarteum and the Haydn Conservatory he is very much engaged in projects of the “Orquesta Lyceum Mozartiana Habana Cuba”, and the “Iberacademy Medellín”.
